One hell of an expensive bill has surfaced online, doing the rounds on Facebook, showing a patron of Signature restaurant in Morningside, Johannesburg spending a whopping R80 359.
But how does on manage to rack up such an impressive tally?
Let’s check out the receipt:
Alcohol, of course. Not only did that patron basically order two bottles (30 DBL shots) of 26 year old Glenfiddich, but also two bottles of Louis Roederer Cristal Brut.
Bottles of water for the table cost R495.
Oh, and then there’s the tip 0f R7 305. 50. Nice one.
Here’s the full menu & prices, if you’re interested.
The general manager of the restaurant denied that it was Zuma and his wives, but refused to name who the patron was. President Zuma’s spokesman Bongani Ngqulunga also denied it was Zuma & co:
I have seen the receipt. It does not belong to the president as he was not in the country on the day. He was in Uganda at the inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in Kampala. We don’t know who did this.
Owned by mogul and professional civil engineer Desmond Mabuza, Signature restaurant hosts customers that include politicians‚ businessmen and celebrities.
It’s anyone’s guess.
