For many bar owners and restaurateurs, the allure of owning a business along one of the Cape Town CBD’s most sought after stretches is too strong to turn down.
You have seen the latest goings-on over at 207 Bree Street then, haven’t you? A fantastic business opportunity has just arisen, the owners seeking to sell the bar / knock shop The Nunnery for reasons not at all related to a recent spate of bad press.
First up we can see an advert with this tagline – ‘HIGHLY SORT AFTER BUSINESS LOCATED ON BUSY BREE STREET’.
That’s SOUGHT, not SORT, but again one shouldn’t let a few typos throw you off the scent of this amazing deal.
For just R1,2 million you can now own one of the most talked about businesses in the area – there’s no such thing as bad publicity, after all.
The Gumtree ad, placed on May 13, advertising the sale of The Nunnery:
Two more photos to show you just how much a vibe this jol is – okes hugging and DJ’s dropping beats!
Some more important details:
Excluding cash sales folks – who knows just how much doesn’t go through that till at the end of each day.
Here is that Facebook post advertising the sale, posted 23 May, with the post stressing the sale is ‘due to personal reasons’:
Awesome landlord indeed, apparently as long as you pay the rent on time he won’t be bothered what kind of mischief you get up to behind closed doors.
That’s all we really want from a landlord hey, the chance to get on with business away from the pesky prying eyes of the snooping public.
That bad publicity has been vindicated? Silly us thinking people out there weren’t convinced, how wrong we are.
There you have it wannabe Bree Street entrepreneurs, who’s up for taking the bull by the horns and taking ownership of this iconic institution?
