There’s nothing like an isolated vocal track to convince you of the power of the voice. Kidding, singing in the shower should have provided that insight already.
Stripped away from the rest of the music, the stem – the technical term for an individual track – is a powerful piece of recording, showing just what the vocalist can accomplish.
NME put together a list of the greatest vocal-only recordings they could find, naming it Vocal-Only Performances In Rock, but they are actually just isolated vocal tracks.
