You would think this life lesson goes without saying, but some jet skiers over in Australia obviously haven’t received that memo.
This takes place off the coast of Queensland, alongside the world famous Fraser Island, where Libby Williams and her husband were enjoying some watersports when they encountered the shark.
Here’s the YouTube video’s description from the hubby’s perspective:
My wife and I were on our Yamaha FX Cruiser jet ski touring up the western side of Fraser Island, we noticed a shadow in the water and realized in was a rather large shark. We decided to get a little closer to take some video footage and we clearly got a little too close! No one was injured although the jetski did get some small scuff marks where the shark contacted the ski.
Then this from ETN:
According to the pair, the animal was not a great white, but a six-foot (1.8m) bronze whaler (also known as a copper shark). Excited about the encounter, the jet skiers chased after the shark in an attempt to get some quality video.
“We clearly got a little too close!” the duo said in a statement. Not only is their behaviour considered wildlife harassment (and obviously unsafe for the people involved), but it’s also dangerous for the unsuspecting fish.
Other life lessons to remember today – breathe regularly and don’t run around the workplace carrying sharp objects.
