If you have grown up along the shores of the Cape Peninsula, you should have a slight idea that winter turns its shores into a surfer’s paradise. The north-westerly winds bring in massive, clean swell, giving every break along the coast a chance to show off its best.
Right bang in the middle of this gorgeous display of waves, the famous Surfer’s Corner in Muizenberg will play host to the Tiger’s Milk Winter Classic. The second time around for the surf competition, Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg hosted the inaugural event last year with much success.
Now, the competition has grown to include a more diverse selection of divisions. This is what Surfing South Africa had to say:
Tiger’s Milk have upgraded the Men’s and Women’s Longboarding Divisions to World Surfing League (WSL) Speciality status, making it the first ever WSL speciality longboard surf contest to take place in South Africa. In addition, an Over 40 Longboard division for the more mature competitive longboarders has been added to the mix.
The full list of divisions in which you can enter over HERE.
Entries are set to close at 6pm on June 13th, but once a division is full no more entries will be accepted.
Then, once you have entered, you need to meet at Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg at 7.30am on the 17, 18, and 19 June and you might just stand a chance of winning a cash prize, as stated above.
If you’re just in it to watch some legit surfing go down, Tiger’s Milk serves the ultimate in Dude Food and it’s panoramic window view of the waves is an ideal spot to watch the comp from.
