Trump 2016 is stepping it up a notch, last week flat out accusing Bill Clinton of rape during an interview with Fox News (HERE).

Now he has gone one better, returning to the tried and tested social media attack against rival Hillary and her husband.

The folks at VICE weren’t all that impressed:

The video is barely coherent and looks like it was made by a seventh grader on iMovie, but we’ve come to expect that from Trump.

For me it isn’t the lack of production value that’s alarming, it’s the fact that Trump is breaking new ground in terms of the personal attacks against opposition candidates.

Who knows what precedent this may set for years to come, but the shift away from anything resembling policy debate (and towards name calling) dumbs down the entire political process.

Then again, it seems that Trump feels this resonates most with his supporters and I don’t think he’s wrong.
