There’s no doubting that we are still blessed with some top notch tertiary institutions in this country, although it is making them affordable for the majority of citizens that remains the biggest stumbling block.
Of course different universities have different strengths, and a recent study has focused on specific degrees and where to study them.
This below from BusinessTech:
New World Wealth, as part of its South Africa 2016 Wealth Report, ranked the top universities in South Africa for business and finance degrees.
The wealth advisory firm used the following criteria:
- Quality of lecturers and courses
- Individual attention given to students
- Safety and student life on campuses
- International recognition of degrees
Here’s who comes out on top, along with a comparison from back in 2000 to see what’s changed:
The two major surprises there will be the inclusion of Monash University and Vega, although by the letter of the law the latter is not classified as a University in legal terms, due to it being a private institution.
We’ll let it slide this time though, we’re not sticklers for the rules anyway.
