Novak Djokovic Might Be In Trouble For Manhandling An Umpire [Video]

In the tennis world laying a finger on the umpire is a serious no-no, which is why Novak overstepped the mark during the Rome Open.

Novak Djokovic, despite his loss to Andy Murray in Rome yesterday, is still sitting pretty at number one in the world of men’s tennis.

That being said he doesn’t look a happy chappy, two incidents in the past week highlighting that all might not be well behind the scenes.

The first incident occurred during his match with Rafa Nadal, when Djokovic committed the cardinal sin of touching chair umpire Carlos Bernardes.

Whilst the exchange looks innocuous, the ATP are still able to enforce disciplinary action according to CNN:

With Djokovic holding a game point, Nadal’s forehand down the line was called wide. Bernardes inspected the mark — as is customary on close calls on clay since Hawk-Eye isn’t used on the surface — but as he did so Djokovic pushed away his right arm.
Bernardes didn’t take any action against Djokovic although the ATP’s rule book states he could be hit with a $10,000 sanction if the governing body deems he was guilty of “physical abuse.”
The second incident occurred during yesterday’s final loss to Murray, where Djokovic can clearly be heard saying ‘I don’t want to play any more’.

Where’s the chill gone man, you used to be called Novak Jokervic for your fun on-court antics?
