Mail & Guardian has got yet another inside scoop, this time from top ANC members who are secretly working on an “exit strategy” for Jacob Zuma.
This information comes just a month after the Sunday Times reported similar insight.
Two weeks from now a report will be presented to the ANC’s National Executive Committee, with recommendations for Zuma and the party going forward.
Here’s News24:
Zuma is willing to step down in order to recover the ANC’s “integrity”…senior party sources [said].
ANC leaders had told the Sunday Times at the party’s manifesto launch in Port Elizabeth that those behind the plan needed to “buy time and only act after the elections”. They said they were giving Zuma a “long rope to hang himself”…
But an NEC member, speaking to the Friday weekly on condition of anonymity, said they have to work carefully so as not to “destroy the ANC”.
Finally! I mean, for someone who is involved in as much scandal as he, surely his time will come – and local elections are coming up so the ANC will need to act fast.
