Like Hilcrest in KZN has a reputation of hosting mansions of weed grows, certain suburbs gain a reputation for housing a specific kind of drug.
Now, it’s the second time that Milnerton has hit the news for having tik dealers – the previous time was in July last year when police arrested a shit ton of people for being involved.
The bust actually happened in Parklands. Thanks to Julie for pointing out that it wasn’t Milnerton.
This time around, however, the numbers are a little less impressive:
Two people were arrested following a R4 million drug bust.
A couple was found in possession of 17 kilogrammes of tik at their home yesterday.
Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says:
Two suspects, aged 35 and 37, are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court tomorrow. The suspects were arrested yesterday after they were found in possession of 17 kilogrammes if tik, with an estimated street value of R4.5 million.
It’s still a major upset in the life of a tik addict, but I’m sure the residents are pretty stoked.
