The youth of today – call them what you will, but there’s no doubting the craving for media attention and 15 minutes of fame is driving them to do stranger things by the hour.
Who needs a belly button anyway though, right? 18-year-old Karim Boumjimar certainly doesn’t think he does, engaging in a little illegal body modification. Below from Mashable:
He surgically removed his nipples and belly button, which he now plans on transforming into earrings and a necklace. As one does.
…he was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” even though the Renaissance artist reportedly never ripped off his own nipples and sold them on eBay.
“[The “Mona Lisa”] has no eyebrows or eyelashes. It’s really interesting how da Vinci meticulously paid attention to every single detail but chose not to give her eyebrows or the eyelashes,” Boumjimar [said].
The artist admitted that the surgery wasn’t completed entirely, err, legally, but that he isn’t particularly concerned about the consequences.
Maybe a few more chores around the house if you’re looking for extra spending money. Just an idea, to each their own…
