Donald Trump is giving one Muslim an exception on entering the USA – that’s if Trump ever actually gets elected as the USA president (heaven forbid), although the odds in the office stand at 4/1 – and that dude is Sadiq Khan, London’s newly-elected mayor. Go, you!
These comments came just hours after Khan said he had planned to visit the United States before January, just in case Trump was elected. Let’s let the Telegraph elaborate:
Mr Trump has vowed a “total and complete” temporary shutdown of America’s borders to Muslims following last December’s deadly attack in San Bernardino by a husband and wife team who swore loyalty to swearing loyalty to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
But on Monday he claimed he was “happy” with Mr Khan’s election victory over Zac Goldsmith and said he was the sort of Muslim he could make an exception for.
“There will always be exceptions,” the billionaire property developertold the New York Times on being asked how his proposed ban would affect Mr Khan.
“I think it’s a very good thing, and I hope he does a very good job because frankly that would be very, very good.”
