It’s politically correct to use the word ‘diva’ when talking about women like Mariah Carey, although a few other options spring to mind.
Sure she thinks she can praat die taal (HERE), but her demands since landing in Cape Town yesterday have raised some eyebrows.

Mariah Carey is indeed living up to her diva status.
[She] is reportedly demanding that Table Mountain changes colour for her.
The We Belong Together singer wants Table Mountain’s lights to be switched on and shine purple during her performance.
There are currently negotiations underway with the City of Cape Town to make this happen.
The source also revealed that Mariah is insisting on coconut water from a specific region, which she apparently did not specify on her rider before she arrived.
Of course her backstage demands have long been the stuff of legends, previous requests including 20 white kittens and 100 white doves backstage.
