I know you’ve received the email about that Nigerian prince leaving you R12 million or so, we all have, but here’s one that may end up without someone’s bank account being pilfered by fraudsters.
Prince’s estate is rumoured to be worth around $800 million, and seeing as though he has no kids that might end up going to his younger sister. She’ll want to spend it wisely though, Tyka Nelson is a reformed drug addict who once called a crack den home.
Here’s the Telegraph with more:
The pop icon, who died at the age of 57 on Thursday, was twice divorced with no children and under Minnesota law his estate would go to his only full sibling Tyka Nelson unless he left a will specifying otherwise…
The purple-haired Miss Nelson, 55, also a singer, grew close to her brother again in recent years after initially struggling as she raised her sons, who are called Sir and President.
In 2003 she told a US magazine she had been living in a crack house. She said: “I was a single mother and my boys were babies. I sold my body for food, money and Pampers. I pawned the car Prince had given me and sold the kids’ TV for drugs.”
Soon after that Prince helped her into a rehabilitation centre and she later recorded albums, including one about addiction, and became a devout Christian.
I’m still dealing with the kids being called ‘Sir’ and ‘President’ – here’s hoping she is better with money than names.
