As Friday drew to a close WhatsApp messages started doing the rounds about some 150km/h winds that were about to tear Cape Town a new one.

That was fine by us, it meant getting out of the office an hour earlier, but it turns out it was the surfers who were most stoked as they buckled up for a weekend of monster waves.

Camps Bay saw some serious swell on Saturday, and a handful of brave souls were ballsy enough to give it a bash.

The guys at David McMaster Productions put this film together which just about sums it up – I think they all deserve a stiff drink and a firm hug.
