If you live in South Africa seeing animals on the road isn’t exactly something to write home about, although it’s not every day you see folks carting a massive python down the side of the national highway.
Motorists on the N2 south of Amanzimtoti would have done a double take then when they spotted that scene above. TimesLive with this:
Yolandi Pearce from Pumula told Newswatch that her family was travelling towards Durban when, just before 11am, they noticed a group of people with a large number of hunting dogs in the centre median.
When they got closer they couldn’t believe their eyes – so they got off at the next off-ramp in order to turn back and get another look.
The men were carrying a four to five metre long dead python.
Sure that’s a beast, but how about the giant found in Malaysia last week? Here’s Newstalk:
The snake, unofficially measured at eight metres (26ft) long, was found on Thursday under a fallen tree on the island of Penang.
It was spotted close to the construction of a flyover in Paya Terubong, a district on the island, a popular tourist haunt off the country’s northwest coast…
…it weighed 250kg (39st 5lb) and took 30 minutes to rescue. It was due to be transferred to the government’s Department of Wildlife before it died on Sunday, after giving birth.
Think I’d be asking nicely if I could be at the tail end of that picture above.
