If you can keep a straight face during Johnny Depp and wife Amber Heard’s court-ordered apology, then you might be just as good at acting as the pair.
Or you just might not think it’s funny, like Barnaby Joyce.
Last year, the couple breached Australian government biosecurity laws when they smuggled their dogs, Pistol and Boo, into the country in May.
On Monday, Amanda faced the court where she was given a $1000 good behaviour bond for her total disregard of Australian law.
The video was played to the court and was released later by Deputy Minister Barnaby Joyce – who is their number one enemy – and captioned it with the following:
Depp and Heard make a public statement highlighting the importance of biosecurity in Australia. The consequences of a disease outbreak could have been terrifying. We can’t take the risk.
The video is delivered in such a serious manner it almost passes the point of earnestness into parody. Not to mention the angle is pretty questionable, too.
“Australia is free of many pests and diseases that are commonplace around the world. That is why Australia has to have such strong biosecurity laws,” Heard said.
“Australians are just as unique, both warm and direct. When you disrespect Australian law, they will tell you firmly,” Depp continued.
Now the world will know not to mess with the island’s biosecurity laws, I guess.
