Capturing the essence of a badass barista is quite a tricky task to do. While we have given this exact mission to you, our readers, as a way to get your hands on two cases of Barista Wine, we understand the perils of walking into a coffee shop without wanting to actually order.

You don’t really want to announce how badass the barista is as they might lose the very cool you wanted to capture.

You can have a look at this week’s Badass Barista entries HERE, but let’s get to why you’re really reading this.

Follow these steps:

1. Locate a badass barista. If you’re still unsure on what “badass” means, pop over HERE for a quick definition.
2. Casually walk into the shop and stare avidly at the menu, as if you are trying to locate a specific item. If there’s no menu, even better – stare blankly at said barista.
3. During this time get your phone prepared. Hold it up, camera ready, facing said barista.
4. When said barista turns their attention on you – usually cued by a courteous “How may I help you?” – ask them one simple question: Do you sell ice coffee?
5. This is the crucial part: They will either answer with a ‘yes” or “no” but during this time it is imperative that you snap away.
6. We recommend using the volume control buttons to surreptitiously grab your snaps, or some subtle tapping away at the screen.
7. Send it to us and stand in line to win.

Tip: Like a fashion photographer, take a few snaps so you can chose the best.

Once we publish the monthly winning picture the barista in question has 24 hours to contact us and prove they are the person in the photo, in which case they will take home the wine.

You know you don’t have to be covert, you could just tell your favourite barista that you think they’re badass and ask for a picture. Who knows, maybe if you win you split your winnings down the middle?
