What started as a joke with his friends soon became a project Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti couldn’t get enough of.
Taking a series of photographs with mates before and after one, two and three glasses of wine, Alberti captured the changes in one’s personality through the process:
There is a saying about wine that I really like and it’s something like this, ‘The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem’. I really wanted to see for myself if that affirmation was in fact true.
I started this project because if you search for alcohol on the internet you only can find bad stuff about it. I wanted to show the good side of it – of course, between friends who are drinking responsibly in a good environment. It’s like portraits during happy hour.
Each person became visibly more relaxed after wine, captured in a simple portrait. Some were obviously able to handle their alcohol better than others.
At the end of every glass of wine I took a snapshot, nothing fancy, a face and a wall, 3 times.
To be fair, Alberti must have needed a lot of wine to capture so many pictures – you can see the rest HERE.
We suggest if you want to give this project a try with your friends, you should definitely enter our Badass Barista competition and get yourself two cases of Barista wine for FREE. That should be enough to bring out the toothy grins…
Wine really does make the world go round.
