The Grand Parade was a rather rowdy affair this Sunday, engines revving and wheels spinning as Drift City came to town.
Motor junkies enjoyed their chance to show off their skills in the heart of the city, with motorsport enthusiasts coming from far and wide to watch the spectacle.
Here’s organiser Jason Williams talking to eNCA:
“Drifting is basically a spectator-friendly sport where guys physically push the cars to their limit. They try to get their cars as sideways as possible and create as much smoke as possible to actually score points.
“Gymkhana is slightly different where they will go around a set course and compete for time. So whoever finishes a course in the quickest amount of time, win.”
Must have been a real hit with the neighbours who don’t dig revving engines and screeching tyres.
