With a 4K camera, live-streaming footage, image stabilizer, no earth-curvature and up to 2,5km flying range, the DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone is an incredible piece of kit. And at almost half the price of the Phantom 4, it’s a no-brainer.
Just watch that video above – EVERYTHING has changed..
Anyone who knows their drones will be aware of the new DJI Phantom 4. But in terms of your REAL needs, the only extra thing the 4 has, that you would want, is obstacle avoidance. But the stability of the 3 Professional is so incredible that you’d have to be drunk and stoned to fly into large objects. After-all, if you ever panic, just let go the controls and that thing will hold it’s GPS coordinates like a dream – infinitely better than previous generation Phantoms.
Locally they’re selling the Phantom 4 for 30 clips and the Phantom 3 Professional for around R22k – R28k.
That’s still quite a punch. But if you’re smart, you’ll order it online from overseas. Then Postbox Courier can get that DJI Phantom 3 Professional to your door within one week from ordering it on Amazon overseas (here). And it will cost you (all in – delivery and VAT) around R17,200.
You’ll notice from the image above that it says (in the red box) that this product doesn’t ship to South Africa. As you probably know there are MILLIONS of websites like this which block us from buying products.
That shouldn’t stop you. Listen to this..
HOW DO I ORDER PRODUCTS FROM OVERSEAS THAT DON’T SHIP TO SA?
For those of you who are slightly behind, Postbox Courier is the groundbreaking service that gives you a shipping address in the US, UK and Hong Kong. So if you’re buying products that don’t ship to SA (like this drone from Amazon) then just give your US address (which Postbox Courier give you) and as soon as it is delivered there (usually same day) then Postbox Courier will grab it and bring it to you in South Africa in 3 to 5 days.
But the best part about Postbox Courier is they handle your parcel every step of the way – meaning it doesn’t get “stuck” at customs here in SA and they also make sure you don’t get stung with the wrong VAT duty.
You’ll also be pleased to know the owners of Postbox Courier are South African. You’re in very safe hands.
WHAT IS THE PRICE BREAKDOWN?
I did a check with them about that Amazon drone and here’s the calculation they gave me:
Drone USD838.89 (R12600.13)
Sales Tax USD74.45 (R1118.24)
Shipping USD95.00 (R1426.90)
Clearance R125.00
Import vat R1940.42
Disb R48.51
So based on the current exchange rate of 15.02 the total will be R17259.20
I GET IT – TELL ME WHAT TO DO NEXT
Postbox Courier is reliable, quick and easy to use – just follow their simple steps:
It’s too easy.
And drones are just the tip of the iceberg.
You should probably tell your cycling mates about this – they’re going to lose their mind when it comes to the kit they can’t order from the likes of Rapha.cc.
