We love that Africa stands apart from any other continent in terms of the wild beasts we have roaming around, but over in Florida they can still match us on the crocodile front with the size of their alligators.
Take for example this 4,5 metre, 363 kilogram beast bagged by some hunters over the weekend. They believe the alligator was snacking on a farmer’s cattle, which was enough to bring out the big guns. Below from Fox:
We … discovered the remains what we determined to be cattle in the water. We determined that he was in fact attacking our livestock as they came to drink,” [hunting guide Blake] Godwin [said].
The guide said Lightsey shot the gator as it surfaced about 20 feet in front of them. Godwin said the animal was so big that the pair had to use a farm tractor to pull it out of the water. ..
“It is hard to believe that something this big exists in the wild,” Godwin said. “Hunting is a way of life for us and we are very proud of it.”
Bring on the beast, let’s see what all the fuss is about:
That tractor shot is simply terrifying, but how big are your great whites Florida? Yeah, didn’t think so.
