T.I.A – This Is Africa, often used to make light of a train being late or a politician spending taxpayers’ money on sprucing up his own private home.
Why on earth would someone from the first world want to head to our shores and check out what the continent has to offer, right?
The folks over at Rhino Africa have put together a list of 36 reasons everyone should stay away, and we’ve hand-picked our favourites below:
The sunsets are mediocre at best.
There’s absolutely nothing breathtaking to see here.
And no remarkable animals.
The trees are stupid.
The Serengeti is way too big.
And those Indian Ocean islands are way too small.
There’s never anything to do.
You can’t even find a good place to eat, let alone somewhere good for a drink.
The cities are nothing special.
Honestly, where is the thrill in this?
Or this?
Seriously, why would anyone want to visit Africa?
You know what else? I hear the internet isn’t as fast as in other countries.
Sigh – what can we really offer the rest of the world?
