No gents, it isn’t sending more unsolicited dick pics in the hope that someone eventually nibbles. However, turn that pic into a GIF and hey, TIME says the app’s co-founder believes your success rate will improve.
OK ignore all of that, except the last bit about GIFs improving your chances. You actually stand a 30% greater chance of receiving a response, with more details from that same article:
Conversations that include GIFs also last twice as long as conversations without GIFs on the popular dating app, a spokeswoman for Tinder said Thursday.
“GIFs allow people to better say what they want to and express emotion, which is something that’s really difficult to do in text alone,” Tinder co-founder and senior vice president of product Jonathan Badeen said in an interview…which first reported the new data on GIFs. “It opens up people to start more conversations and to break the ice.”
Over 20 million GIFs have been sent since the option was introduced in January, and if you’re worried about choosing the perfect one this just became a whole lot easier.
Click HERE, scroll down and you’ll see the 20 most popular. Do it, there are some real gems there.
Good luck out there folks, and please remember to lay off the dick pics.
