Back in the 90s, the fashion industry’s famous faces were models whose claim to fame was their definable features, not their famous parents. And they were goddamn sexy, am I right? Paging through glossy magazines, the famous faces were defined by their seasonal campaigns and sun kissed bodies. But things have changed.
There’s one fashion house that understands this, so for Balmain’s latest campaign they got the best 90s trio to pose for their SS16. Enter Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford. In other words, The Supers.
Shot by Steven Klein in classic black and white, Balmain’s creative director had this to say:
This campaign is about what makes me love fashion, and these three women are exactly that. These three women are what made me love fashion yesterday, make me love fashion today, and are going to make me love fashion in the future.
The three fashion icons also still love hanging out together after many decades and Claudia said on the reunion:
I loved seeing Cindy and Naomi again. Every time it’s like I’m continuing a conversation from the day before. We have experienced some amazing times together. Cindy and I talked about family life as we had our hair and makeup done, and Naomi, who still has the best body in the business, made us laugh.
They are still looking as stunning as ever.
