Truly Horrific Details Emerge As Tokai Murder Suspects Appear In Court

The suspects charged with the murder of 16-year-old Franziska Blöchliger are now in court and details of the murder are coming out. Graphic warning.

Franziska Blöchliger’s murder has grabbed national headlines and caused mass outrage, and as more details emerge in court that anger is only set to rise.

Four suspects are currently appearing in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court. Here’s News24 with the court proceedings and those horrific details:

Thomas Knemeyer, who is the acting as the family spokesperson, says that he heard that a mother of one of the accused gave him up. He said this still needed to be confirmed and was just something he had heard. “I really take my hat off [to her]. I couldn’t imagine anything harder,” he told journalists outside the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court…

Four men have entered the dock.

Prosecutor- one count of murder, one count of robbery with aggravating circumstances and three counts of rape. Visible gasp as rape counts announced.

The deceased was jogging when she was killed. iPhone, watch, headset, diamond ring part of those items robbed.

Indication that the victim in this matter was raped anally as well as vaginally. Huge gasps of shock and orderly asks court to keep quiet…

Magistrate – you all have the right to appoint a lawyer, either through legal aid or at your own expense. Three of them choose legal aid, one chooses private lawyer. They cannot be named because of the rape charges.

Two of the three men charged with her murder and rape seem at ease in the dock. The one cracks a smile and laughs at something. He nods his head as they chat.

The case has now been postponed until March 18 when the bail application will take place. Until then the suspects will remain in custody at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court, where the magistrate has assured them they will receive water, soap and shampoo in the cells.
