Born only two hours apart, DNA results have confirmed that a set of twins in Vietnam are bi-paternal. For two years, the “father” of the twins has been sceptical that they were his after the differences in appearance became more and more pronounced since birth. While one had thick wavy hair, the other had thin, straight hair. His family then pressured him into a paternity test which revealed that he was father to only one of the twins.
A very rare occurrence, the DNA tests ruled out a hospital mixup when it was confirmed the mother was the biological parent of both the same-sex twins.
Bi-paternal twins occur when two eggs are fertilised by two men during the same ovulation cycle.
