If you thought we might go a whole day without insulting the Donald you’d be sorely mistaken. It’s just that he makes it so bloody easy, with this video above another sterling example.
The shady lighting, the tinny audio, the third-rate background music to heighten the drama – you can make of that what you will, we’ll focus on the allegations levelled against the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative (formerly known as Trump University).
The central issue here is that the real estate investment seminar is facing multiple class-action lawsuits across the country, attendees claiming it was a scam and seeking to get their money back.
Some of those victims appeared in adverts funded by the conservative group American Future Fund, seeking to show Trump for the shyster that he is:
Huffington Post reports:
In the video, Trump reveals the full names of two former Trump University participants who say they were ripped off by the program. He holds up positive course evaluation forms he says they filled out.
Trump adds that he’s “looking for” a third program customer, presumably referring to a woman who also publicly has claimed she was scammed by Trump’s business…
The new Trump video sends a message to anyone else who may consider speaking out against the businessman or his shady endeavors: He will not hesitate to name you and tacitly encourage his millions of Twitter followers to find you.
When The Huffington Post asked Trump’s lawyer, Alan Garten, about the decision to name the fraud victims in the video, he said, “While these individuals may have at one time wished to remain anonymous, they lost that right when they injected themselves into the discussion by agreeing to be featured in a nationally televised commercial.”
Just another tactless display of Trump’s high school bully mentality – if he’s not name calling he gets his legions of social media followers to do his dirty work for him.
And as for that ‘we don’t settle’ line he keeps on trotting out, that would be another stinking lie in an ever lengthening list of mistruths. Just check out from around the 14:20 mark in the video below, John Oliver exposing that one rather well.
