There’s a dude that lives along Australia’s Gold Coast and he likes to take his pet python out for a swim. Now, we already know Australians are crazy, but this is like next level. Even a local snake catcher thought it was illegal and immoral. I mean, he was drinking a beer, too.
So on Sunday when a local went down to Tallebudgera Creek and the dude showed up along with a carpet python and just started playing with it in the water:
This fellow walked down with a snake wrapped around shoulders and a VB tallie in hand. He was drinking his beer and talking to everyone and himself.
He got into the water and picked the snake up and chucked it in.
Everyone split from the beach, kids were screaming, lots of parents screaming ‘Get out of the water! He has a snake!’.
He continued to chuck this snake and the snake came swimming back to him like a game all the while he was drinking his beer.
I was thinking this is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
After the 20 minute swim the man and the snake took a shower and headed home.
The snake was really tame, it definitely seemed like he loved the snake.
But what of the dangers? Local snake man, Mr Harrison, had this to say:
One way to know is that the snake’s body is skinny compared to the size of its head, usually if they are captive bred snakes they are fatter because they are well fed.
It’s absolutely friggin’ cruel to throw a snake around.
They are nocturnal animals, it would be panicked and scared.
Carpet pythons were renowned for having a good temperament and it is hard to tell whether they were stressed out.
The average person would look at and think it is probably calm, but the fact is the snake is probably hanging on for dear life.
