What began as a birthday soirée in the Paris suburb of Palaiseau, ended as a bit of a horror story on Saturday. A group of friends rented a three-storey house complete with seven bedrooms, a swimming pool, and “lovely forest with a jogging trail” but had to cancel the party when they came across a shallow grave in the garden that had a badly-decomposed corpse of a woman.

She was found hunched in a dug-out area, her head against the ground, covered in branches, and surrounded by wood stumps … at the bottom of the property which opens out into a woods.

*cold shivers*

Although it is unclear who owns the property, the woman, aged between 30 and 50, was clothed and wearing a ring with a large stone on her finger, however she had no shoes nor identity papers. It is suspected that the body had been there for several weeks.

The rental has been removed from Airbnb and the cause of death is unknown.
