There have been a series of tragic incidences that have taken place around Rhodes Memorial above UCT since November, and now police have released the name and photograph of a man they suspect of committing at least one of them.
The photograph is of Patrick Hlomane, also known as Mthunzi Makhamba, 44, and police have issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of rape and robbery.
On 19 November 2015 the suspect attacked a 23-year-old female victim at the bottom of Rhodes Memorial and raped her, whereafter he fled with her personal belongings.
The possibility that the same suspect could be linked to similar cases in the same area is also being investigated.
Although they have not released reasons why he is a suspect, look out for the man:
