Hate to break it to those of you who came here expecting all those honourable members and points of order, the budget speech from Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan promises to be a more sombre affair than the SONA fiasco.
That doesn’t mean it’s not worth keeping an eye on, Gordhan discussing key areas like “government’s spending as well as the global economic gloom, the possibility of a sovereign credit downgrade and high inflation”.
No word on whether David van Rooyen will get to stand at the podium for the first thirty seconds before being asked to take his seat.
