You generally want to be quite honest with authorities when transporting things via plane. Remember Johnny Depp and his pooches, that horrible Barnaby Joyce threatening to eradicate Pistol and Boo?
Now it turns out Zimbabwean authorities have impounded a cargo plane carrying a consignment for the South African Reserve Bank, finding a body on board which sounds like a fair reason to me. Fin24 carries this:
The police are now handling the issue and the plane, which is owned by Western Global Airlines, has been grounded at Harare International Airport since Sunday,” Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe CEO David Chawota said by phone.
“The cargo in the plane belongs to South African Reserve Bank,” Chawota said. He would not disclose details of the cargo, citing security concerns.
The plane, en route to South Africa from Germany, landed at Harare after requesting permission to refuel when the body was discovered, Chawota said.
Perhaps a body being returned to South Africa for a burial service? That’s one of the less sinister options though, and if you’re inclined to believe everyone is up to no good then you may smell a rat.
We’ll let you know when we know, promise.
