Tragedy struck tourist hotspot Hermanus over the weekend, a massive biker brawl resulting in two deaths and leaving three people in critical condition.
Bikers had gathered for the Hawston Rally on Saturday when things escalated rather rapidly, a 22-year-old and a 25-year-old shot and killed after a man opened fire. A suspect has since been arrested with this below from EWN:
…three others, including an off-duty police officer, are in a critical condition in hospital after they were also caught in the cross fire.
The police’s Noloyiso Rwexana said, “Two victims, aged 22 and 25, were shot dead. According to the report, an argument occurred between the victim and the suspect and the suspect started shooting at the victim. An off-duty Saps member stationed at Hermanus was also shot and she is currently in a critical condition at hospital.”
Let’s just be thankful our biker gangs don’t take their leads from the Bandidos or the Cossacks, their shootout from early last year grabbing headlines around the world.
