The internet is awash with clips of a so-called Friends reunion, even though they’re only five out of six and they met along with a room full of other people.
Well good news fans of that horribly outdated 90’s sitcom and cars, now you can combine two of your passions I will never understand into one glorious union.
Yes Matt le Blanc, Joey if you will, has been announced as Top Gear‘s new co-host. Check this from the Sydney Morning Herald:
The 48-year-old self-confessed “car nut” and “massive Top Gear fan” had already been hosting a spin-off series on BBC America and also held the record for fastest celebrity lap on the show.
But when news broke on Friday that LeBlanc would be co-presenting the revamped British racing series alongside Chris Evans, some fans described it on Twitter as the death knell for Top Gear and their “darkest fears confirmed”.
“Sorry, but Top Gear is dead. Everybody knows it,” one person wrote.
Said another: “I give it 5 episodes.”
Others took umbrage with the fact the show will be co-hosted by an American. LeBlanc will be the first American host in the show’s 39-year history.
“Why would I want watch a yank present a British show?,” one British cab driver wrote on Twitter.
One woman commented that it won’t be the same without Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond – a gold star to you there madam.
Some more discontent from the Twitterverse:
Sorry if this rattles your cage petrolheads. Let’s all just hope they don’t ask Phoebe or those other ones to appear on the show…
