You know that moment when you wake up after a huge night, check the bedside table and see both your phone and wallet are safe and sound?
Yeah you’re stoked, but now I want you to imagine you just woke up after a heart transplant and realised you’re alive. I can imagine there can be no greater relief, so it’s understandable that 15-year-old Trevor Sullivan is a touch emotional.
More below from ABC:
“I really like the video, actually,” Trevor [said]. “I think it’s really cool and I wish everyone in the world can see it because it really makes a difference. It promotes organ donation and people can see the outcome of it and how happy they really are.”
“I feel fine after recovery,” he added. “I can do anything now. I do feel really relieved”…
[Mom] Kimberly said she felt as if the heart gave her son new life, again.
“It felt like it was better than the day he was born,” she said.
I don’t see him reaching for his phone immediately after waking up, which also sets him apart from most teenagers I know.
Enjoy that new heart mate.
