We’ve all been there, those moments when you’re stuck in the corner listening to someone’s rambling and it seems there is no escape.
Now there’s a couple of roads one can go down here. You can be polite and ride it out, your exit moment will come eventually. You could straight up tell them you’re over the chat and walk away, although that one carries with it the risk of coming across as a douche.
Then there’s TV personality Chelsea Handler and her Gotta Go app, designed to provide you with a face-saving escape plan. This from Fortune:

For example, you could conveniently set up the app to send you a series of text messages from a panicked roommate about your apartment being broken into. Or you could get a phone call from your child’s babysitter about your bawling baby.
“Oh, my god, I gotta go. So sorry.”
Possible game changer right here, although surely you could just organise for a friend to call rather than using an app?
Maybe it’s designed for people who don’t have friends, but then again they are usually the weirdos people are trying to escape from in the first place so…
