2015 saw Apple release some big guns, the Apple Watch and Apple Music to name just two. Of course the reason that they have become one of the world’s superpowers is because they just keep on trucking, meaning 2016 promises to be another bumper year at the house that Jobs built.
So what exactly does the year hold in store for Apple acolytes? Let’s take a run through with the help of BusinessInsider:
The iPhone 7 – around September
Reports say that to make it thinner, the iPhone 7 won’t have a headphone jack.
With no headphone jack, Apple will have to come up with its own wireless earbuds, which will reportedly debut alongside the iPhone 7.
Other likely iPhone 7 features include waterproofing, the ability to make any headphones noise-canceling, and wireless charging.
The iPhone 6C – March
There are also rumours that Apple will announce a smaller, 4-inch iPhone 6c in March. But unlike the iPhone 5c, which had a plastic casing, this one will probably be metal.
The Apple Watch 2 – March
Word is that Apple will also announce an Apple Watch 2 in March. Reports say it will have a front-facing camera for video chatting.
The Apple iPads
On the hardware refresh side, 2015’s iPad Pro mega-tablet will probably get a second-generation refresh later this year…
…and the iPad Air 3 is expected to finally come out in the first half of the year, after being nowhere in sight in 2015.
The MacBook Pro
A new Mac Pro is long overdue and could finally come out in 2016, as hinted by references in the code of the newest version of OS X.
In fact, given that Apple’s 2015 was all about introducing new concepts like the new super-thin-and-light Macbook, get ready for lots of hardware refreshes that add a little more horsepower under the hood. The Macbook itself could get a Retina screen this year.
New Software
Coming soon is iOS 9.3 for iPhone and iPad, which will include cool features like Night Shift — a mode that changes the lighting on your device at night to make it easier on your eyes.
iOS 9.3 will also add nifty new features for educational iPad users, including the first time that a single iPad will support multiple user logins.
Apple’s popular Swift programming language is expected to hit version 3.0 sooner rather than later, making it more powerful and flexible for app developers.
Apple could also finally announce its long-rumored cable-killing bundle of digital channels for the Apple TV.
New Campus
But the biggest news for Apple employees might be the company’s long-delayed, still-under-construction “Spaceship” campus in Cupertino. Apple is due to finally move in before the end of the year.
And then there’s that whole electric car thing – seriously Apple the cat is out the bag, you may as well just come out and say it.
If you’ve made it this far you must be a fan, which means you’ve heard of Digicape and why they are known as the country’s Apple experts. Seriously we’re not yanking your chain, their deals on Apple Watches are the best in the country and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Make sure you keep up to date with the latest offerings – here’s hoping this year is a goodie for all you Apple fans out there.
