Adele can do no wrong, whether it’s impersonating herself (HERE, it’s gold) or driving around in a carpool with James Corden (also gold, see HERE).
Of course there’s also the small matter of the commercial success she has record after record, each of her offerings causing her legion of fans around the world to lose their shit.
Case in point is ‘Hello’, now officially the fastest song ever to reach one billion views on YouTube. Here’s Mashable:
On Thursday, YouTube announced that Adele has surpassed the record set by Psy’s music video “Gangnam Style.” Her “Hello” is now the fastest video to reach 1 billion views on the platform.
The singer-songwriter reached the 1 billion milestone after just 87 days, handily beating Psy’s record (158 days).
The news of Adele’s YouTube record comes just two days after she reached another online milestone. Her Carpool Karaoke video with James Corden from The Late Late Show has become the most viral late night clip to hit the web since 2013.
See, we told you that Carpool Karaoke video was gold.
‘Hello’ is now the 17th video to reach the billion views mark, which unfortunately includes such turds as Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’ and LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock’.
Oh well, such is life.
