If you’ve ever dreamt of having shedloads of money and the perfect platform upon which to flaunt it then you’d be very jealous of young Clarisse Lafleur.
The 18-year-old resides in New Caledonia, a series of islands off the east coast of Australia, although she studies Down Under on the Gold Coast. Is she aware that people probably look at her lifestyle (easily followed on Instagram) and wish she caught a bad case of the shingles? Here’s the Daily Mail:
‘I completely understand that people would generalise and perceive our lifestyle very negatively when they come across content such as teenagers filling hot tubs with $600 Champagne,’ Miss Lafleur said.
‘Being wealthy doesn’t mean throwing money everywhere and wearing a bunch of designer clothes and too much jewelry all at the same time: you don’t look rich; you look like a Christmas tree.
‘You need to have the culture behind it otherwise people will laugh at you.
‘How dumb would you look if you’re wearing all your money and you can’t [tell the] difference between good wine and a bad one.
‘Same if you don’t know how to drink Champagne: I saw some girls who want to look all fancy and European drinking [litres] of Champagne out of red wine glasses filled with fruits.’
I mean oh my gawd, can you imagine the horror? Here’s Clarisse keeping it classy…
Luckily she doesn’t intend to live off daddy’s generosity forever and has career aspirations mapped out for when she finishes her degree:
‘My career aspiration would be to work with my father until he retires and then take over his businesses,’ she said.
‘In my opinion, it is not enough and I want to diversify even more.
‘I am also very interested in fashion: I love new trends and how products are promoted.
‘I would like to know more about the business of fashion: the numbers behind all the glitters, how fashion companies are managed and so on.’
I’m sure the old man can clear a spot on the board of directors for his darling daughter, as well as afford a flutter on a business venture or two.
