Almost half of Spaniards under the age of 25 are unable to find work, resulting in Spain having one of the highest youth unemployment rates in the European Union. The current ruling party, the People’s party, has presided over the worst economic slump in decades yet it is expected to win the upcoming election happening on Sunday.
So when Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy – who is despised by Spain’s unemployed youth – was walking through the city of Pontevedra, a 17 year old who was by his side took the prime minister by surprise and laid a fist into the side of his face.
Unhurt from the incident, Rajoy just had a deep-red mark where fist met face.
The young dude was arrested and later told a local newspaper he was glad he did it.
