It would have been an awkward first day on the job for former Finance Minister and current Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs David van Rooyen, having been the butt of many a joke Monday.
Now you can go ahead and watch the full address up top if you’re that way inclined, although if you want to hear van Rooyen field a few tricky questions check around the 10-minute mark.
Pay attention to that ‘were any deals signed question’ and you will hear him respond with a waffling attempt to avoid any kind of direct answer. At the end he throws in that little ‘zero deals were signed’ quip, although I can’t say it was said with much conviction.
Other than that it’s just the standard political posturing really, much homage paid to both the ANC and the ‘honourable’ Jacob Zuma.
