I happened to get awfully sunburnt on Sunday after just an hour in the direct sun. Beating down on my upper body, I didn’t realise how burnt I was until the redness wouldn’t disappear and I ended up with a terrible case of heat stroke.
I thought I was in the clear as the South African parameter used to be set between 12pm – 2pm and my sun-filled hour was just out of that. However, I was wrong as, because the South African sun is getting stronger and more vicious each year, the parameter has been set to between 10am – 3pm.
So how do you get the ultimate protection while enjoying the sun? First off, if you’re going be swimming you should ensure your skin has adequate protection by lathering it with a high quality sunscreen. Then wear protective clothing and remain in shady areas.
And the best gift you can give to your little ones is to start their sun protection as early as possible. This results in less damage and a longer lasting youthful appearance of the skin.
If you happened to be careless in your youth and the sun damage to your skin is beginning to show, there are ways to treat deep seated pigmentation, sun damage and cancerous skin conditions in the face, hands, neck and décolleté.
Skin Renewal has all the knowledge and know-how and preventing and improving your skin. Just pop over to their website for more information and listen to the podcast below and a couple of quick fixes before holidays being.
