It’s always an exciting time when you open the menu at one of your favourite spots and they’ve added some new dishes. It’s even better when you know the kitchen never fails to impress and they’ve done something of an overhaul, although the biggest problem is then deciding where to start.
Cape Town foodies have long sung the praises of Harald’s Bar & Terrace, the rooftop beaut at the Park Inn By Radisson that satisfies those hunger pangs with a view out over the Mother City. Now famed Executive Chef Chevonne Morris has overseen a new summer menu and the tastebuds have already gone into overdrive after the first glance.
There’s two dishes that we can’t wait to sink our teeth into, the first of which is the Barbeque Chicken Pizza – tomato reduction, roasted barbeque chicken strips, onions, peppadew and mozzarella cheese coming together to please.
Then we’re looking at Harald’s Mega Summer Salad, the healthy treat for when it’s not a carbs kind of day – served with mixed lettuce, baby tomato, avocado, cucumber, pineapple, onion, peppadew and feta. Choose between toppings of either chicken breast, beef sirloin or tuna flakes for your dose of protein and you’re good to go.
If you happen past the RBG Grill downstairs you might be pleased to know they’re embracing summer too, and we’ve already planned our three-course meal accordingly.
Start off with the Prawn and Avocado Salad served with mixed baby leaves , cherry tomatoes, fresh avocado and a tasty 1000 Islands dressing. When it comes to mains we’re always partial to a 200g Rib Eye, served alongside mashed potato and honey-glazed carrots.
If you haven’t drooled on your keyboard by now then finish off with the Baked Passion Fruit Cheesecake served with apple and pear cubes, frozen mixed berries and a passion fruit sabayon.
If you’re in the mood for fine food enjoyed in the heart of Cape Town don’t by shy to head on down to Park Inn By Radisson in the Foreshore. We know what we’ll be starting with on the new menu but hey, choice is king so you just do your thing.
