Last night saw the Royal Variety Performance air in the UK, 27-year-old Jack Whitehall making history as the youngest ever host of the iconic year-end show.
Perhaps it was his youthful exuberance (or his penchant for cocaine) but Whitehall didn’t hold back, poking fun at Harry during the evening’s events. Some of those zingers courtesy of the Daily Mail:
Among the tirade of one-liners unleashed at Harry, who sat in the royal box, was: ‘I think you’re the first person to get a Victoria Cross for bravery just for stepping out of the shade in Afghanistan… I mean a ginger in that heat!’
The prince chuckled along with the jokes, which also included ribbing about his fondness for partying and the lack of a serious girlfriend, but clearly he had a game plan when it came to the post-show line-up.
After chatting with celebrity royalty including Kylie, Little Mix, One Direction and Elton John, the Prince pretended to walk away when it was Whitehall’s turn to press the flesh.
The comedian was happy to enjoy the moment, laughing as he watched Harry turn his back before the pair enjoyed a warm handshake.
