It looks like intelligent life managed to find its way to South Africa, although there’s not much to be said for their landing technique.
Commuters driving in Sandton this morning were greeted by the sight of a fallen UFO, scientists in Hazmat suits sifting through the rubble. Now if you’ve been following the UFO stories this week (HERE and HERE) you’ll know we called the whole thing as a marketing gimmick from the beginning, so here’s the Sandton Chronicle with some vindication:
According to Adam Weber, Creative Director of Joe Public, the UFO scene is part of a national brand activation for Clover and FutureLife’s new smart-drink.
Weber said that over the past couple of days, UFO sightings have been staged around the country, however this is the first one in Johannesburg, and people have been tweeting using the hashtag #UFOSA.
Sandton Drive is the last UFO location, the premise of the activation will be for people to “discover” the crashed spacecraft then look inside it to reveal the futuristic new drink.
The UFO will most probably stay at the corner of Sandton Drive all day.
Wow guys so zany and out of the box – what will you come up with next?
