You never know when that bout of inspiration will hit you, but when it does it literally feels as if someone in some far-off land happened to switch on a light bulb. Most times the light bulb flickers and dies, but occasionally, it stays on for years, its bright light guiding the way for you to make it big.
Over in the U.S., among the events of Black Friday and Thanksgiving, it also happens to be their Nation Novel Writing Month. Cute. So the peeps over at Adzuna created an infographic pointing out the day jobs of successful authors before they became famous and to what degree their careers actually inspired them. While some merely used their jobs as a way to pay the bills until the royalties started flowing, others turned the real-world experiences into characters and situations that we know.
