On Monday, ISIS released a video that warns all countries involved in airstrikes against Syria that they will suffer the same fate as France’s capital, Paris. Calling it their “crusader campaign”, Islamic State issued a targeted warning at Washington in the same video – which appeared on the group’s website which they use to post messages.

We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington.

Following the attacks, the French government declared war and Sunday evening deployed fighter jets in its biggest raids in Syria to date, targeting the Islamic State in the city of Raqqa. French police also raided homes of suspected militants overnight following the attacks.

The video released by ISIS also issued a general warning to the whole of Europe:

I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before.

We have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels.
