There’s something about Adele’s success that makes most of us happy. Perhaps it’s that we know she’s been through some hectic breakup stuff and we can all relate, or perhaps it’s that she doesn’t seem like many other celebrities and prefers to lay low and shun the spotlight.
Whatever the reasoning it may please many to know that Billboard have now named her 21 album the greatest of all time, edging out the soundtrack to Sound of Music with Michael Jackson’s Thriller in third. Here’s TIME with why:
Adele’s blockbuster 21 tops the Billboard 200’s all-time albums ranking, fueled not only by the set’s 24 nonconsecutive weeks atop the list (the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by a woman), but also its lengthy chart run in the upper reaches of the tally…
21 is Adele’s second studio album, which debuted in 2011. Bolstered by hits like “Rolling in the Deep” and “Set Fire to the Rain,” the singer earned six Grammys, including Album of the Year.
I might go a little Kanye for a second and say that’s great Adele, and Imma let you finish, but how about some of these – Dark Side of the Moon, Nevermind, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band?
Each to their own I guess, and it’s hard not to like Adele. You have seen her duet with Lionel Richie right?
