So how do one half-witted model and one quarter-witted musician combined their forces for the greater good of both? Cross promotion yo, and Derek and the Biebs have nailed their latest effort.
Ben Stiller became the vacuous model for a few snaps (and that video up top) on each other’s Instagram accounts, the star drumming up some publicity ahead of the release of Bieber’s new album Purpose. Here’s Billboard:
Not only did the Biebs flaunt his best duckface, he pulled on a rock-star wig to match Zoolander’s famous hairdo.
No break-dance fighting went down on Bieber’s Instagram, but Zoolander himself occupied two posts, holding a sign that reads: “#4Days #Purpose.”
Zoolander also used the opportunity to get his follower count up, saying in one clip, “When my good friend Justin Bieber asked me to promote his album,Purpose, I said, ‘Of course,’ because I want more Instagram followers.” He paused then added, “And I hear it’s good.”
Let’s see that cross promoting in action.
If Zoolander 2 is anything like Anchorman 2 or The Hangover 3 it may have more in common with Purpose than Derek knows.
